Maria cut her political teeth in Idaho; knocking on doors and putting up yard signs for Frank Church and Cecil Andrus and has been working for Democratic candidates ever since.

Winning campaigns throughout the West, Maria learned early and well how to target voters with precision and to develop effective identification, persuasion and GOTV turnout programs. From doubling Democratic seats in legislative chambers, to electing progressive mayors and city council members, to winning targeted Congressional races and serving as the Executive Director of both the Idaho and Arizona Democratic Parties, Maria has been on the front lines of national electoral politics for more than a decade.

Maria's expertise is in political & grassroots organizing, campaign planning & operations, electoral targeting and voter contact programs. She has a BA in Political Science from Columbus State University, an MPA from Idaho State University, and had just about finished a doctorate in Political Science when the lure of campaigns became too hard to resist.

When she's not busy getting Democrats elected to office, Maria is in Southeast Alaska drinking a cup of fresh roasted coffee and hanging out on the back porch with two cats and the best view in the world.
